Clackamas County Junior Baseball Minutes
Area Heads Meeting
November 3, 2003

 Meeting called to order: 7:41 p.m.

Areas Present: Country Christian, Keizer, Lakeridge, Milwaukie, North Marion, Oregon City, Putnam, Redland, South Clackamas, and Sunrise.
Absent: Canby, Colton, Gervais, Gladstone, Jackson, Lake Oswego, Molalla, Sellwood, Silverton, Tualatin, West Linn, Whiskey Hill, Wilsonville, and Woodburn.

 Treasurers Report:  $3,328.01 remains in the account. Most reimbursement requests for 2003 County  Tournaments have been received. Putnam still needs to submit a request for reimbursement of their 2003 County Tournament expenses!

JBO State Board report

2004 Board Nominations/Elections: Nominations were again solicited for CCJBA Board positions for 2004 and elections were held. The following people were elected to Board positions:

President:                               John Garcia

Vice President:                   Willie Fisher

Secretary:                               Jeff Boechler

Treasurer:                               Robert Schmuck

District Commissioner:*         Mike Lehman

Members at Large:                         Greg Forrell and Doug Miller

North Field Rep.:               Dave Gattuccio

South Field Rep.:               Todd Nichols

* The District Commissioner position currently filled by Tracy Gay has one more year remaining in the two year term.

 

Umpire Coordinator: Willie explained the goal of the Board to have a coordinator to mentor and support the younger umpires once the baseball season begins. He asked all Areas to go back to their organizations and attempt to identify those members who may be good candidates for the position.

 

CCJBA Bylaws: The Board is in the process of developing and ratifying CCJBA Bylaws. The Areas were informed that the Board expects that in approximately three months the requirements for their respective bylaws will be distributed.

Q and A: The Board fielded several general questions from the Areas.
