CCJBA DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS

CCJBA uses the regular season league play to seed the post season District tournaments. The District tournaments are used to advance teams to the JBO Championship tournaments.

2010 CCJBA Tournament Dates and Locations


For County Tournament pre-tournament games, the higher seeded team will be the home team. Both teams will split the umpire fees, and provide baseballs for these games.

Pre-tournament innings pitched will not count against County Tournament games during the final 8 weekend tournament.

Game Results Reporting Cards must be completed for all pre-tournament games. These cards will be kept by the winning coach and submitted to the County Board at the applicable Mandatory Pre-Tournament Meeting.

There is no time limit for pre-tournament games.

The Head Coach of all teams advancing to the final 8 of the County Tournament must attend a Mandatory Pre-Tournament Meeting. If the Head Coach cannot attend, one team representative must attend in his/her place. For 2009, these meetings will be held as follows: July 8 (Midget Federal), July 10 (Midget and Junior National), July 15 (Junior and Senior Federal), and July 17 (Senior National); meetings are at 6:30 pm, Chapin Park in Oregon City.All American level teams will meet with tournament coordinators at the tournament site prior to their first game.

All teams advancing to the final eight of the County Tournament are required to pay an entry fee prior to the tournament. This fee must be paid to the Area hosting the tournament at the Mandatory Pre-Tournament Meeting. The entry fee is $50 for Midget and Junior National teams, $75 for Midget and Junior American teams, $125 for Midget and Junior Federal teams, $100 for Senior National teams, and $150 for Senior American and Federal teams.

Teams advancing to the final 8 County Tournament that are not able to participate in the State Tournament must notify the County Board prior to, or at the beginning of, the County Tournament. These teams will be allowed to fully participate in the County Tournament, but if they qualify for State the berth will be provided to the next highest placing team; subsequent berths to State will be adjusted accordingly, if applicable.

Trophies: Each League Champion receives a team trophy. Team trophies are also presented to the 1st through 3rd place teams at the County Tournament. The 1st place team also receives individual player trophies.


COUNTY TOURNAMENT GAME RULES

1) Teams must play with the eligible players on their official state roster.

2) To be eligible for County Tournament play, a youth must have played in at least fifty percent (50%) of the teams regularly scheduled League games (exception: illness or injury must be excused in writing by the players doctor).

3) The home team will be decided at each game by a coin flip.

4) Infield warm-up will be limited to time available.

5) The 10-run rule applies, except in the championship game.

6) At the Federal and American levels, pitchers are allowed to pitch six (6) innings for Midgets, seven (7) innings for Juniors, and eight (8) innings for Seniors for every two consecutive games played. In addition to the above, National level players must not pitch more than three (3) innings for Midgets, four (4) innings for Juniors, and four (4) innings for Seniors per game.

7) There is no time limit on games (including County Tournament pre-tournament games).

8) The County Board member present will decide protests on rule interpretations. If a Board member is unavailable, the tournament director will make the decision.

9) A decision as to whether or not to call a tournament game because of rain or playing conditions will be made by the County Board member in attendance. If a Board member is not present, then the tournament director will make the decision.

10) Playing regulations not noted above are governed by the JBO rulebook.
